The purpose of the Center is to serve as a statewide resource
for children who are deaf-blind ages 0-21 and their families, teachers,
and adults who are deaf-blind. Included in the responsibilities of the
Center is providing technical assistance to educational programs serving
children who are deaf-blind, both public and private for children between
the ages of 0-21. PRC library loans, phone consultation, and visits to
the school or home settings as appropriate are available. Inservices and
workshops which address the unique needs of those who are deaf-blind are
offered to teachers and parents. Adults who are deaf-blind are served
by PRC, primarily by information referral.
The Center provides services to the 0-3 year old population. Early intervention
programs across the state receive technical assistance and inservice training
intervention techniques.
